Steph's Christmas Carol Outfit

christmas carol by wwywblog

Here we come a'wassaling among the leaves so green...This is my outfit for sharing the holiday spirit through song. I'd sport a festive plaid coat with long winter gloves and a cheery hat. I'd bring along Kennedy, but he would need a holiday jacket too. I just hope the homes I visit are wearing earplugs...

...To Go Caroling?

You have decided to live out a Norman Rockwell Christmas this year. You, with the gilded voice, are going caroling.
You conned a few of your friends into coming along (perhaps the offer of hot toddies were offered as bribes) and you mapped out a path.

What are you going to wear to strike that perfect Christmas mood? And to keep warm?
What would you wear to go Christmas caroling?

Fa-la-la-la :)

tree by wwywblog

I love decorating my Christmas tree...I also love goofy socks. So my Christmas tree decorating outfit centers around my sweet reindeer socks! The sweater and shirt I wore to work that day, and I changed into the jeans after I got home. A jaunty santa hat tops off the outfit. And of course you need hot cocoa, marshmallows and a candy cane stirrer!

What would you wear to decorate your tree?

It's the hap, happiest time of the year...you have secured your tree. But a naked tree brings goodwill to no one. You need to decorate it.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And no half-way decorating for you either, you won't have a Charlie Brown tree in your house...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

But where to start?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
You need to just get in there and give it your all...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

You will produce a ten foot tall beckon of Christmas cheer. How that fits in your house is secondary to what you will wear to show your holiday spirit and make the magic of the season happen.

Steph's Hiking Outfit

The Arizona area hasn't always been good to me. I need to be surrounded by water and boats, not desert that relishes seeing my beloved Buckeyes lose National games. I hate Arizona. But in the interest of this challenge, here is my outfit. I'll wear solid socks and hiking shoes, a Garmin watch with built in GPS, and yeah, I'll wear my OH-IO gear. Eff you Arizona.

You are spending the Thanksgiving Break in Arizona. You decide to go hiking at the Grand Canyon to cross another thing off your life to-do list.
You stumble across this canyon...and give thanks for being able to see something this beautiful in person.

And feel at peace while watching the sunset.

What would you wear to hike in the Grand Canyon?

Don't Know When I'll Be Back Again...

travel by wwywblog
Ok...so this outfit is all over the place, but i enjoy so many of the little parts...
I love the sleek jacket paired with the flirty top...I am in love with patterned tights (although these are a little bland...I am currently digging on the colorful ones the most!) Flat shoes for comfortable hiking through the airport..and easy slipping on and off on the plane. And I had to include the classic suitcase image :) Wouldn't that be fun to use as a carry on!?!

...When You are Leaving on a Jet Plane

The holidays have arrived and you need to take a cross-country trip to visit family on one of the busiest travel days of the year

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Remember the old days, when airline travel was something people dressed for...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

People dressed up. There was luxury and importance to travel. I mean, you would even get some warm nuts and a scotch and soda with your flight...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Nowdays, we have removed the flash and it's more safety and rules. But, they can whittle away a lot but they cannot remove all luxuries from air travel...

Afterall, this is your seatmate.

Steph's Fabulous Dream Dinner

Ah, I have thought long and hard on the invitees to my dream dinner, so I'm pleased to now be given a chance at the outfit. I would wear a classic black dress, with an unexpected twist of lace and drama on the shoulder, paired with black booties. Simple black tear drop earrings and a showy cocktail ring would set off my perfect outfit for my perfect evening of sparkling conversation, witty banter, and after dinner songs. We find a hidden bistro in the Lower East Side where we could sit and relax and nibble on salt baked trout (my favorite place: http://www.azulnyc.com/index2.htm ) During dinner, Tina Fey would make everyone laugh, Billy Joel would play the piano between courses, Hillary Clinton would share insider political stories while Aaron Sorkin took copious notes for his next brilliant screenplay...and Ira Glass...every good party needs the eyecandy and Ira Glass would be mine, he would also have to sign my boobs before he was excused (that also explains the Sharpies).

Abby's Masterpiece Wear

art by wwywblog

I would wear my comfy old paint shirt, my favorite, oldest jeans, cheerful yellow sneaks and tie a bandanna over my hair to try and keep the inevitable paint smear out. I can't wait to paint my masterpiece!!

You are inspired. The world is shining for you lately. You need to share your feelings of possibilities and hope in a perfect masterpiece that will bring tears to the eyes of embittered old men. But before you can transcend the world to that higher plane just by the mere sight of your work, you need to pick out the perfect clothes to undertake such a task.

Steph's Open Mic Poetry Reading

When I think of Open Mic Poetry reading, I immediately think of the Beatnik generation. I'd dress the part of a beatnik for my word debut. Pedal pusher pants and a tight turtleneck with hair slung into a low pony-tail and accented with a proper beret. I'd carry the symbol of the Obama campaign covertly in my pocket, as he is the inspiration for my sudden wordiness. I'd read my favorite passage from Kerouac before taking the stage, where it a fit of dramatics, I'd unroll my scroll, grab my feather-topped pen and allow my words to pour out.

...To Open Mic Night

You were so inspired by the words and cadence of the new President Elect that you found yourself composing poems frenzidly with your magnetic poetry set.

When you shared them with friends, they were surprised to find that they are good! Really good! So they convince you to attend open mic nite at your favorite coffee shop.

So what do you wear to introduce the world to the creative inner workings of your mind?

Abby's Voting Outfit

Voting outfit by wwywblog

To make sure that I didn't get mistaken for a stuffy republican, I would dress very bohemian. :) I love my comfy, cable knit flats that will ensure that my feet don't get tired if I have to wait a long time to vote. And purple accents add a subtle splash of color.

...To Vote!

Finally, the big day has arrived. After what feels like the longest election season in the history of the world, you get to cast your ballot and let your voice be heard. Aren't you glad you live in a swing state? Your vote really counts. Your polling place may be swarming with eager reporters covering this national story. You want to look your best in case you are used in any of the voting footage...remember...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Your clothes shouldn't clash with this kind of stuff, or the news media will never use your beautiful image...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

You will want to stand out in the crowd...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And don't forget to wear cute shoes, the voting machines don't hide much these days...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Plus you will want to wear something that showcases the most important part of your outfit, the cute American sticker that shows you are a true patriot!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Finally, I think you should always keep this motto in mind...Voting is Sexy.
So what do you wear when you cast your ballot in your important swing state and take part in this historic election?
Post by Steph, who has already proudly cast her ballot in her own swing state for Obama!

Abby and Cooper's Costumes

Vampire by wwywblog

I tried to get Cooper to do his own costume, but he didn't want to do a costume at all...mumbled something about being g-hey like Ken, so I made him wear a skeleton t-shirt and be my vampy minion. I, being completely embroiled in the Twilight series of books right now, chose to dress as a vampire. I got stunning gold contacts to wear, beautiful realistic fangs (even though they don't really have fangs in the book...but no one would know what I was otherwise) and donned the obligatory black, whore clothes. :) I powdered my skin to match yours and I also brought a red sharpie to give people "bite marks". Watch out Bo-Peep!! You look tasty!!!!

Steph and Kennedy's Halloween Costumes

I love charity events, but I don't love being scared. So I'd dress as a friendly and cute Little Bo Peep, complete with pink boys, blonde wig, and grown-up Mary Janes. My little man, Kennedy, would be my sheep, complete in a shearling coat. We will raise tons of money for charity and hope to see you and Cooper there! What are you guys wearing? Happy Halloween!

You are attending the ASPCA's Halloween Gala. Your gallent date, Kennedy, also needs a costume. What will the two of you wear? Will it be a couples costume? Or will you each fly solo?

What would you (and your dog) wear to a Halloween event?

Abby's Puddle Jumping Gear

creek ware by wwywblog

Ahh...this brings back memories! Although instead of being barefoot like I was as a little girl, I will wear some high rubber boots with a fleece lining. Knee high socks, worn in jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt topped with a plaid shirt and a quilted vest. A cheeky hat keeps my head warm and the earrings can be used as a fishing lure if needed ;)

...to Explore a Local Creek?

The field research team at The Ohio State University is conducting a sampling of local creeks. Your name has been referred to them as someone interested in the health of rural water passageways. They have asked you to join their team (and here you thought the only team OSU had was on the football field, maybe you can learn to love this university afterall) and spend a day exploring a local creek collecting water samples and looking for signs of life.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is the creek you are going to help research

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

As you walk downstream, you come upon a small foot bridge you must cross

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After crossing you arrive at the spot where you are to secure water samples and look for wildlife

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Jackpot! You pick up some crawdaddies as they scramble around in your hands.

What would you wear to spend a day exploring a creek?

Steph's Irish Countryside Clothes

For a day tracing family roots and drinking Irish beer, I'd be sure to be prepared. I'd wear sturdy, but adorable wellies to handle the moss and mud as I explored the old land. I would need a warm cable-knit jumper to help fight the Gaelic chills and thick tights to keep my legs warm. I'd want to explore the land on two wheels to better breathe in the country air and really feel the magic of the land. I'd be sure to tote a messenger bag with camera, map, and a weathered copy of a James Joyce novel. I would greet all with a rowdy "Top of the morning to ya..." as I pedaled past them and smile as they replied "...and the rest of the day to you."

...On a Perfect Irish Day?

You have arrived at your inn in Kilarney, your first stop on your trip to research your family tree.

You go to the county records office which is in a lovely old house with a thatched roof. A little old lady with a thick brogue and a mischievous twinkle in her eye brings you a cup of tea and adds another log to the fire that is keeping away the chill.

Your search shows that your great great great grandfather grew up a half hour drive from the town and you head out to take a look and there is still a run down little building on the property, but no one lives there anymore, so you take some pictures and head back to town.
You go to the pub for a pint and some lamb stew that is served with a crusty roll. mmm...

A couple of people pick up some instruments and start playing some drinking songs. You remember the words from your nana singing them and join in :)

What would you wear to have a perfect Irish day?
