At least you did until Monday, when Wall Street decided to fail...

You watched your yachts, beach houses, and country estates fall away with the stock prices...

Now it looks like you are moving from Easy Street to the Poor House.

If things continue this way, you won't have two nickels to rub together...

Unless you don your superhero gear and ride to Wall Street's rescue yourself...

But knowing what to wear to such an unprecedented occasion is truly befuddling. Do you wear a cape and tights? Would the Wall Street suits respond better to someone dressed like themselves in a dark, wool suit with an Italian leather briefcase and expensive pointy heels? Are you going to need to get down and dirty to save Wall Street and thus require coveralls and a hard hat?

Steph's 31st Birthday

Somehow, it's easier to think about getting older when you have such swanky events and lovely wardrobe choices...For my 31st birthday, I'd wear a bold red cocktail dress with sparkly Christian Louboutin shoes that dare not hurt my feet a pinch, this is my dream world afterall. I'd accent my happy frock with more sparkles, a vintage diamond bracelet and cluster earrings, and I'd keep a shawl handy to fight the chill when I am moon gazing on the deck after the sun sets. My red hair would be loose and my makeup would make me shimmer like the ocean view. I'd play Billy Joel without a single complaint from my guests, pour champagne, open presents from Tiffany, and snap picture upon picture of my friends to capture every glorious moment of my perfect party. Afterall, 31 is the new 21.

...To Your Swanky 31st Birthday Party?

You've shown 30 who's boss...you've crossed some things off your "bucket list"...this year has been great and it is time to usher in another fabulous year. You are kicking 31 off in style at your fabulous oceanside home.

You arrive at your beach house after a day of getting pampered. You greet the catering staff and are handed a glass of your favorite wine just as the first guest arrives.

You usher your guest into your living room where they ooh and ahh over your fabulous book collection, the view, your exquisite taste in furniture and mostly, your "divine" new hairstyle.

You and your guests enjoy some drinks and sushi and drift out to the deck to watch the sunset.

After the last guest leaves, you drift off to sleep, sated by good wine, great food, the warmth of the love of your friends and with the sound of the ocean in your ears.

Abby's Apple Picking Adventure

Well...so maybe it turned out a little more like I am just cruising through the orchard in my convertible, but a girl can dream right? I'll pretend that there are no rotting apples on the ground to mess up my beautiful boots... I love the color and cut of the coat and that ended up being my starting point...I want this coat in real life!!! The rest seemed like a sophisticated take on country...and the coffee cup is for my hot spiced apple cider that the lovely old couple that runs the orchard gave me :)

...sitting on the couch on a Sunday morning?

While sitting on the couch on a lazy Sunday morning, we (Abby and Steph) were discussing blogs that we check out on a regular basis. We were inspired by the creativity of Stephanie at even*cleveland and decided to entertain ourselves by creating situations to "dress" for. We will post pictures of the event that we are attending (in our odd little brains) and then like any good girlfriend would do, we would ask the other what we should wear. For our maiden voyage, we are plotting the course together.
